Worried? Afraid? Meditate on the words of the Psalmist. "But let all who take refuge in you be glad; let them ever sing for joy. Spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may rejoice in you. For surely, O Lord, you bless the righteous; you surround them with your favor as with a shield." (Psalm 5:11-12)
Believer - Rest in protection of the Lord!

Be Faithful To Your Local Church!
Hebrews 10:25 reads, "Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another - and all the more as you see the day approaching."
1. Through the local church, you receive instruction. The Lord gave "some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up." (Ephesians 4:11-12)
2. Through the local church, you have the privilege of fellowship. God gives us families for our care, protection, fellowship and development. You need the local church for all the reasons you need a family!
3. Through the local church, you meet to worship. What a blessing to worship our Lord together!
Friend, are you faithful to a local church? Plan this Sunday to attend a church of your choice.
Blessings!

Think about this scripture . . . "Find rest, O my soul, in God alone; my hope comes from him. Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your hearts to him for God is our refuge." (Psalm 62:5, 8)
Prayer: "Lord, help me to trust You today. Give me rest from the worries of my life. In Jesus' Name, Amen!"

Paul wrote that he prayed for the church at Thessalonica. "With this in mind, we constantly pray for you, that our God may count you worthy of his calling and that by his power he may fulfill every good purpose of yours and every act prompted by your faith." II Thessalonians 1:11
Paul constantly prayed for believers to be used of God to fulfill God's will. One of my Bible College Professors would often say, "there will never be another day like this day, fulfill the purpose God has for you today." AMEN!

Paul wrote to the believers at Thessalonica, "For night and day we pray on and on for you, asking God to let us see you again, to fill up any little cracks there may yet be in your faith. And may the Lord make your love to grow and overflow to each other and to everyone else, just as our love does toward you." (I Thessalonians 3:10, 12 TLB)
Prayer: "Lord, grant these requests in my life today! In Jesus' Name, Amen!"

Paul prayed for the Philippians the following prayer: "And this is my prayer, that Your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight."
Paul prayed that love might grow in the Philippians. Love grows out of a relationship with God. It is a fruit of the Spirit and essential to realizing all other spiritual graces. (I Corinthians 13:1-2) We as believers need to grow in God's love.
Prayer: "Lord, may Your love grow in me. In Jesus' Name. Amen!"

"For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you and asking God to fill you with the knowledge of His will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding. And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please Him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God." (Colossians 1:9-10)
Paul prayed for the Colossian believers to grow closer to Christ. The results would be a God-honoring life that would bear spiritual fruit. That is a good prayer for all believers. Take a moment and personalize this prayer to God.
Prayer: "Lord, fill me with the knowledge of Your will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding. I pray this in order that I may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please You in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of You. In Jesus' Name, Amen!"

Paul wrote to the Ephesian believers, "I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers. I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know Him better." (Ephesians 1:16-17)
Paul wanted the believers to be filled (totally controlled) by the Holy Spirit. Then, spiritual insight and discernment of God's will would be possible. Then, their personal knowledge of God would grow.
Believer: A good goal today for you is getting to know God better each day!
Prayer: "Lord, grant to me today a more intimate knowledge of you. I yield myself to the control of Your Spirit. In Jesus' Name. Amen!"
Blessings!

Galatians 6:9 reads, "Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up."
Keith Davis wrote, "Even in the Christian walk, we can grow weary in our work for the Lord. It may seem that no one cares that we work hard or that it yields very little. If you are feeling that way, you are in good company with some of the great characters in the Bible. People like Elijah, Moses and Noah must have felt the load of much work and sometimes little results. Elijah felt like quitting, Moses was overwhelmed with the daily work of hearing the people's concerns and Noah never had a convert outside of his family."
How can we overcome the temptation to give up working for Christ?
Keith Davis continues - - - "Let me share two verses of scripture with you:
I Corinthians 16:14, "Let all that you do be done in love." The motive of love in our work will fuel us when others are coming close to quitting. I Corinthians 15:58, "Therefore my beloved brother, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord." God will accomplish His purposes through your work even when you do not see the results."
When we see results, we will be glad we were faithful! Keep Serving!

Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these" (Matthew 19:14).
Make sure that you don't "hinder" what God is doing in your children. How do we sometimes "hinder" them, you might ask.
- We hinder them by not bringing them to church. Remember, they depend on YOU for transportation.
- We hinder them by not recognizing the importance of what God might be doing in their lives. Remember these were young children that Jesus blessed.
- We hinder them by cluttering their lives with other things so that there is little time for God or His church.
Prayer: "Lord, forgive me if I have hindered the children. May I point them to You and may You work in their lives. In Jesus' Name. Amen."
Blessings!

Can you recognize the voice of God? "Then the Lord came and stood and called as at other times, Samuel! Samuel! And Samuel said, speak, for Your servant is listening. The Lord said to Samuel . . ." (I Samuel 3:10-11a)
One song writer wrote, "He sill speaks, I know His voice. Sweeter sound never heard by mortal ears". Listen for His voice calling to you today.
Prayer: "Lord, Your servant is listening. Speak to me. In Jesus' Name, Amen!"

Colossians 1:3-4 reads, "We always thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we pray for you, because we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love you have for all the saints."
Have others heard of your faith in Christ? Have others recognized the love you have for other believers? Keep living out your Christian faith.
Prayer: "Thank you, Lord, for the Church!"
Keep Shining The Light!

James 5:16b reads, "The earnest prayer of a righteous man has great power and wonderful results" (NLT).
Who needs to experience a powerful and wonderful work of God in their lives? Pause a moment and pray for them right now.
Prayer: "Lord, I pray for _________________, today. Let him / her experience Your power today. In Jesus' Name, Amen!"

Have the troubles of your life led to the temptation to give up? Maybe you are ready to give up on a relationship, a goal or even a ministry. Paul knew about troubles and the temptations that followed. II Corinthians 4:16-18 reads, "We never give up. Our bodies are gradually dying, but we ourselves are being made stronger each day. These little troubles are getting us ready for an eternal glory that will make all our troubles seem like nothing. Things that are seen don't last forever, but things that are not seen are eternal. That's why we keep our minds on the things that cannot be seen." (CEV)
Notice, Paul kept an eternal mindset. He believed . . .
1. He was growing spiritually (16)
2. Earthly troubles were preparation for eternal glory (17)
3. Earthly troubles were temporary while the spiritual is eternal (18)
Christian - Never Give Up!
Prayer: "Lord, give me grace for today and an eternal mindset to remain faithful. In Jesus' Name, Amen!"
Blessings!

Labor Day is an official U.S. holiday to recognize the workforce of America. Many employers observe this day by giving their employees the day off.
Believers; God doesn't forget His "workers" either.
Hebrews 6:10 reads, "For God is not unjust to forget your work and labor of love which you have shown toward His name, in that you have ministered to the saints and do minister." God rewards His faithful workers both now and forever! Keep working for God!
Your fellow worker,
