Forgive Them
"Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you." (Colossians 3:13)
Scripture teaches us to forgive others as Jesus Christ has forgiven us. Christians must not hold grudges. Our example is Jesus, who on the cross prayed, "Father, forgive them." Jesus initiated the forgiveness of our sins before we ever confessed that we were sinners! We should forgive others before they ever ask for our forgiveness or if they never ask for it. What a challenge!
Question: Who have you not yet forgiven? Forgive them right now. Experience the joy of forgiving someone!
Blessings!

From Cries For Help To Songs Of Praise
Psalm 40 is a prayer for help in times of great troubles. "I waited patiently for the Lord; He turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire. . . He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God . . ." (vs 1-3a)
Are you struggling with the burden of life's troubles? Continually (patiently) call out to your God! Today might be the day that He gives you a new song!
Blessings!

The Way To Peace
The Way To Peace
Thought: "As long as you are busy, you may not notice a lack of peace. When you slow down, it can become a glaring reality." (Henry Brandt)
Lacking peace? Good News! Jesus said, "These things I have spoken to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world, you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world." (John 16:33)
We can turn to Jesus for the satisfying peace we need!

A Labor Of Love
A Labor Of Love
"For God is not unjust so as to forget your work and the love which you have shown toward His name..." (Hebrews 6:10)
The summer season is almost upon us. The daily schedules of those with school age children will change dramatically. Many will enjoy that much needed vacation and hopefully a temporary decrease in the demands of life.
Yet, the "labor of love" is a year long work. The work of the church must never take a vacation. The eternal souls of men are at stake!
Many opportunities to serve our Lord are available this summer. Christian, don't take a vacation from your calling! Continue to labor out of love and serve God faithfully. God never will forget your faithfulness.
Blessings!

Be Determined To Serve
Be Determined To Serve And Please God
II Timothy 2:3-4 reads, "Endure hardship with us like a good soldier of Christ Jesus. No one serving as a soldier gets involved in civilian affairs - he wants to please his commanding officer."
Christians, you and I serve the Supreme Commander of all creation! We must not be diverted from our mission in life. Determine to serve Christ Jesus today!

A Godly Heritage
A Godly Heritage
Recently, I participated in a funeral service that lasted over 2 1/2 hours (no, this was not due to long winded preachers). Everyone of the deceased man's seven children shared memories concerning their father to those that were present. It was a wonderful, worshipful service that I will never forget. It was all very appropriate because of the Godly heritage the deceased man left behind.
Paul said of Timothy's heritage . . . "I have been reminded of your sincere faith, which first lived in your grandmother Lois and in your mother, Eunice . . ."
A Godly Heritage! What will your family remember about you?
Blessings!

God Cares For You!
Here is a good reminder for today.
"Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you." (I Peter 5:6-7)
Are you anxious about something? God invites you to transfer that burden to Him. Yes, He is able to carry it for you! He is able to remove the concern from your mind. Take a moment and ask God to take your burden and carry it for you. He Does Care!
PRAYER: "Thank you, Lord for this promise. I give you my burden right now. Thank you for loving me and caring for me. In Jesus' Name. Amen!"
Blessings,
Rex

"Heavenly Security"
"Heavenly Security"
Christians have a heavenly security system; Angels! Psalm 34:7 reads . . ."The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them."
Billy Graham, in his book "Angels, God's Secret Agents" writes . . . "If you are a believer, expect powerful angels to accompany you in your life experiences." Graham closes one chapter with this word of encouragement. "Believers, look up - take courage, the angels are nearer than you think!"
Prayer: "Thank you, Lord for your protection! In Jesus' Name. Amen!"

Blessed!
Blessed!
I trust you are having a wonderful day. The following scripture is one of my favorites. "I waited patiently for the LORD; he turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear and put their trust in the LORD. Blessed is the man who makes the LORD his trust, who does not look to the proud, to those who turn aside to false gods." (Psalm 40:1-4)
Allow God to speak to you from this passage.

Encourage Other Believers
Encourage Other Believers
Hebrews 3:12-13 reads; "Take care, brethren, that there not be in any one of you an evil, unbelieving heart that falls away from the living God. But encourage one another day after day, as long as it is still called "Today," so that none of you will be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin."
God wants us to encourage other believers. Encourage each other to trust God for our needs. Encourage each others "day after day". Encourage each other "as long as it is still called Today" or while we have an opportunity!
Who needs your encouragement today? Reach out to them!
Blessings!

God Controls The Affairs Of Men
God Controls The Affairs Of Men
Worried about presidential politics and upcoming elections? Fearful about possible changes brought about by a new president? Here is a good reminder from scripture. "The King's heart is in the hand of the Lord; He directs it like a watercourse wherever He pleases." (Proverbs 21:1) God is in control! Trust Him! Pray for our nation to be used for God's purposes.
God Bless America!

Thank You, Mother!
Timothy was blessed to have a Christian mother. The Bible describes her faith as "sincere". In II Timothy 1:5, Paul writes: "I have been reminded of your sincere faith, which first lived in your grandmother Lois and in your mother, Eunice . . . "
Notice; "first lived" - "first" speaks of the godly heritage Timothy was blessed with.
"Lived" speaks of a sincere faith that could clearly be seen. What a wonderful, godly influence Timothy's mother had on him.
Was your mother a godly influence on your life? Thank God for her today.
Blessings,

A Mother's Example Of Faith
A Mother's Example Of Faith
Timothy's faith in Jesus Christ was sincere. According to II Timothy 1:5, that faith was first modeled by his mother and grandmother. Paul writes; "I have been reminded of your sincere faith, which first lived in your grandmother Lois and in your mother Eunice and, I am persuaded, now lives in you also."
Mothers and Grandmothers - - YOUR sincere faith in Jesus can influence your family as well. Seek to model Christlikeness to those closest to you. You will impact their lives!
PRAYER: "Lord, help me live so others can see Jesus in me! In Jesus' Name, Amen!"

A Promise To Believers
"If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you. This is to my Father's glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples." (John 14:7-8)
What awesome promises! Concerning these verses, Gerald Borchert writes: "That means that the model of Jesus in life and word must permeate the life and words of the disciple. When this happens, praying ceases to be selfish asking and becomes aligned with the will and purposes of God in Christ."
PRAYER: "Lord, help me to pray in Your will and for Your glory! In Jesus' Name, Amen!"
